After a short - 2 hour - flight from Wuhan to Hong Kong, we took an airport bus to the ferry
terminal, where we took a 55 minute Jet Foil ferry to Macau. From the Macau terminal we
were able to take the Hyatt Regency shuttle bus to the hotel. It was a beautiful hotel and we
stayed there for two nights. Things in Macau were as expensive as they would be in any
big city here.
The big draw for Macau is gambling. But gambling there is not like Las Vegas. Besides having very, very high minimum bets (about $25 for black jack), most of the games were different from what we're used to. We found them too confusing to even try. My husband loves craps, but they didn't play it there. At least not so as we could recognize it. The extent of our gambling was to play a few slot machines.
Macau is an exciting place with lots of beautiful sights, great restaurants, and nice hotels. We took an all day city tour that was great. Like the tours in China, it also included shopping.

Since Macau is so far south, the weather was quite nice. Like California in the winter. We were happy to shed our heavy clothes for a little while.
